All the materials used are of the best quality and NSF approved.  Everything is stainless and brass and always new, out of the box, never reconditioned or remanufactured. We have used the same products for many years without problems.  They have proven to be reliable and work well, therefore, we do not change.

The major materials involved with drilling a new well are:

CASING:  Standard 20 feet lengths are used instead of random lengths. For most jobs, 5 inch PVC is common. Other diameters are available, depending on the application.  We always use SDR 21 and in deeper wells where more casing is required, SDR 17 is used.  Never is anything other than well casing used in our wells.

PUMPS:   We have used McDonald pumps from A Y McDonald for thirty years.  These pumps are constructed of stainless and brass.  They have a separate pump and motor end.  This means the ends can be replaced separately if something should go wrong with just one end and you would not have to pay for an entire pump.  Other pumps being used in the industry are plastic and will split, causing the entire pump to be replaced.  The motor end of the pump is from Franklin Electric.

AY McDonald pumps are MADE IN THE USA.  They stand behind their product, contrasting to the other manufacturers which we have found, do not.

TANKS:  Currently we are using two types of tanks. The first one being Well X-trol tanks by AMTROL which we have used for years.  The diaphragm inside the tank designed not to collapse or tear.  These diaphragms are are thicker than the other brands. They have a five year warranty and are available in several sizes.

We also use a Fiberglass tank.  These tanks are becoming increasingly popular because there is no steel to cause them to rust out.  They too have a strong bladder inside and have a five year guarantee.

The tank is matched up with the pump installed to cut down the on/off time of the pump for lasting equipment.  Other factors to consider when selecting the right size tank for you is the amount of water you will be using.  A larger house with several bathrooms or if a sprinkling system is going to be used, a larger tank is recommended.

SCREEN:  If you should need a gravel well in your area, then a screen will be installed. A screen is matched up to the size gravel in the well. The screens that we use are of a uniformed slot size that comes from the manufacturer and are wire wrapped. We do not saw the slots in the screens ourselves like others which can affect the uniformity.
